M23 Unsaturated Polyester Resin for producing Body Fillers and Car Putties of car body repairing ______________________________________________________________________________________ DESCRIPTION: M23 is a high molecular weight unsaturated modified ortho-terephthalic polyester resin especially designed for use in the manufacture of body fillers and other putties for Methyl ethyl peroxide cure. Its toughness properties is designed and chemically balanced to substantially reduce the internal and external cure cracks of the patch compounds. It has also excellent shelf life at ambient temperature below 30 centigrades. ______________________________________________________________________________________ USES: M23 is recommended for use in the following: Body Fillers Car Putties Use Methyl Ethyl Peroxide as hardener.______________________________________________________________________________________ FEATURES AND BENEFITS: Excellent adhesion to metal. Geltime and Peak exotherm are measured by adding 2.00-g MEKP50 Hardener and 0.8 grams cobalt (10%) per 40-grams resin. ______________________________________________________________________________________ SUGGESTED APPLICATION GUIDELINES: In order to achieve maximum filler capacity of the resin without drastically increasing the viscosity of the resulting putty compound, it is advised to use fillers of varying particles size. Suitable extenders are talc, crystalline chalk or calcium carbonate and barytes with low iron content. Talc is applied as the main component because it improves sanding properties. ______________________________________________________________________________________ RECOMMENDED STORAGE CONDITIONS: Store indoor in a dark area which is not exposed to moisture at a temperature not exceeding 30° C. Keep container sealed to prevent moisture pick-up and monomer loss. Rotate stocks as much as possible. Follow FIRST-IN-FIRST-OUT RULE. M23 remains stable for a minimum of 12 months provided proper storage conditions are followed. Shelf life deteriorates at high temperatures especially when exposed to direct sunlight. ______________________________________________________________________________________ MATERIAL SAFETY HANDLING INFORMATION: M23 resin contains ingredients which could be harmful if mishandled. Contact with skin and eyes should be avoided and necessary personal protective equipment and clothing should be worn, such as chemical gloves, gas mask, eye goggles and apron.
