Tile adhesive is a grey cementitious powder containing performance enhancing polymers and other speciality additives. This versatile, easy-to-handle, cement-based adhesive is perfect for fixing ceramic & vitrified wall and floor tiles, quarry tiles and similar materials. It provides strong adhesion to cement/sand screeds, to in-situ/pre-cast and aerated concrete, and brickwork. It is suitable for use where the tiling is fully immersed in water. RECOMMENDED FORTile on tile applications New tiling in internal areas & floors inexternalCeramics, Marble and decorative cladding Kitchens, showers & wet processing areasLaboratories, hospitals, canteens, etc Tiling swimming pools and fountains Tiling corridors, pavements, podiums an roofs Advantages Water resistant Precision made High adhesive bond strength Easy to use Long open time Direction for use Surface preparation The substrate must be solid, clean and load-bearing. Oil stains, bond-inhibiting surfaces and contaminations must be thoroughly removed. Irregularities on walls are to be levelled. Allow primer to dry. Freshly installed cement screeds must not have residual moisture content above 5 %. For tile-on-tile applications, the existing tile surface needs to be cleaned and washed with clean water making it free from wax, oil, grease, polish, paint and any other stains. Concrete, screeds, renders, and block work should be cured sufficiently to allow for most of the shrinkage movements. Tiles must be dry, and their surfaces free of contaminants that could impair adhesion. Do not soak tiles in water before lying. Mixing Place gauging water in a clean mixing vessel. Add powder and mix with a suitable stirrer or mixer mounted on slow speed electric drill until plastic, lumps free consistency is achieved. Allow to stand for 5 minutes before use.
