In the production of stainless steel sheet, as a rule, use the following steel grades:
AISI 201, AISI 202, AISI 301, AISI 303, AISI 304, AISI 304L, AISI 309, AISI 310, AISI 310S, AISI 314, AISI 316, AISI 316L, AISI 316Ti, AISI 321, AISI 329, AISI 403, AISI 410, AISI 410S, AISI 420, AISI 420F, AISI 430, AISI 430Ti, AISI 439, AISI 441 in accordance with ASTM A240/A240M and analogues according to EN 10088-2, EN 10029, EN 10051, EN 10095.
Scope of application:
Chemical industry. Almost all tanks, vessels, reactors, pipes and other equipment of the chemical industry are made of austenitic stainless steels. The minimum acceptable mark is 1.4404 (AISI 316L).
Food industry. Today stainless steel together with glass and certain types of plastics is virtually the only material that is approved as raw material for the manufacture of equipment for the production, storage and transportation of food products. This is due to the high demands on hygiene, toxicity, etc. Usually for the production of food processing equipment used stainless steel grades 1.4301 (AISI 304) and 1.4401 (AISI 316).
The pulp and paper industry. Almost all of the equipment pulp mills and a large part of the paper are made of stainless steel. The minimum acceptable mark is 1.4401 (AISI 316).
The electric power industry. Today most of the energy in the world is produced by burning fossil (coal, oil or gas) or nuclear power plants. In both cases the use (in the sea or on land) and to produce electrical energy used in stainless steel.
Protection of the environment. New plants are being built to meet high requirements from the point of view of environmental protection. Environmental protection is a huge area of activity and significant investments are made in stainless steel. Using a wide range of grades: from ordinary 1.4301 (AISI 304) to high-alloyed special steels.
The transport and automobile industry. In the automotive industry more often stainless steel is used for the production of containers-containers, exhaust pipes, and catalysts, the manufacture of which are ferritic or austenitic grades.
Household. It is an ideal material for the manufacture of spoons, forks, pans, pots and other kitchen utensils. The inner part of the high quality dishwasher and washing machine are made of stainless steel, as well as a high level grinder. Italy, Germany and France are the most famous producers of high quality domestic appliances.
Building and architecture. Stainless steel offers many interesting possibilities for architects and designers. It combines well with glass, stone, wood and other materials. In other words, can be perfectly adapted for the decoration of facades and interiors of public buildings. As a roofing material it is also excellent. Outdoor furniture, made of stainless steel, looks good and virtually no wear.
