Silicon carbide is an crystal of high hardness and is used as grinding material in industrial process. As rare in natural reserve, most of the silicon carbide is produced artificially. The main structures of sisic are hexagonal crystal, diamond crystal and cubic crystal. SiC is an crystal material of high hardness which is even harder than corundum ( also stronger in mechanical strength than corundum). In industry , SiC is mainly used for grinding.
