Mixing with acids (vitriol), it may produce chlorine dioxide. It has strong oxidating power. When mixing with sulfur, phosphorus and organic materials or striking, it may cause burning and explosion. It is deliquescence. It absorbs vapor and changes into solution in atmosphere with high humidity. Sodium Chlorate is used for paper pulp bleaching, chlorite and chlorate, medicine producing, fireworks and crackers producing, printing and dyeing, metalworking, uranium ore processing, also could be used as a herbicide, oxidizing agent.
