The chief constituent of petroleum coke is hydrocarbon (carbon content of 90-97%, hydrogen content of 1.5-8%), but it also contains nitrogen, chlorine, sulfur compounds and heavy metals. So the color of petroleum coke is black or dark gray. According to different quality, the petroleum coke can be used in manufacturing graphite, metal smelting industry and chemical industry. The main product of our company is high-quality low sulfur coke (the sulfur content of less than 0.5%) that is mainly used in preparing high power graphite electrode for the steel and aluminium industries and producing some special carbon products. And it is particularly valuable because the electrodes must be replaced regularly and the coke is produced exclusively from sweet crude oil, which is in diminishing supply. After calcining at high temperature, Petroleum coke can be transformed into Calcined Petroleum Coke(CPC)which is the important raw material of electrode paste and pre-baked anode.
