Oak barrels made by splitting oak logs along the grain.Splitting a log allows you to keep the integrity of the fiber throughout the length of the barrel, which prevents the penetration of alcohol (especially strong) drinks deeply inside riveting. This fact allows to reduce the "angel share" (evaporation of the beverage from the barrel and to extend the life of oak.
