Mammoth ivory carving ball

On the outside layer, the mammoth ivory ball is carved with delicate patterns such as dragons, phoenixes, flowers and leaves. Inside it can be carved uniformly into network structure in 15 to 60 layers. The thickness of each layer is less than 2 mm and each layer can rotate freely. An ivory ball can be completed within one or two years due to its complicated technique. As one kind of ivory carving technique in China, the special ivory ball carving technique is so unique and wonderful that such balls are finally named as “Works of Spirits”.
