Low-E glass, also called Low-Emissivity glass, is a kind of specialty glass with excellent functional performance characteristics of solar control. Such glass is generally coated with multi-layers of metal oxides and some other materials, designed to allow transmission of high level of visible light, and reflect UV and infrared radiations. Low-E glass is green, energy saving, and environmental protection glass. The surface radiant emissivity of normal glass is around 0.84, while low-e glass is under 0.25. This kind of glass has high reflectivity for the heat emission of far infrared ray, it can reflect back over 80%, while the reflectivity of normal clear float glass, heat-absorb glass is just around 12%, so Low-e glass have good performance for block the heat emission. The reflectivity of visible light for low-e glass is usually under 11%, almost the same as normal white glass, lower than solar-control coated glass.
