Liquid Resister Starter for motor winding machine I. Overview YQR series liquid resister starter formotor winding machine is a new generation starting controller researched and developed to further improve starting performance of medium and large coil-winding asynchronous motor. By connecting a liquid resistance in rotor loop of motor controlled, which automatically runs upon starting of the motor, and disconnects automatically, steplessly and continuously as scheduled, the following deficiency was overcome: impulse current of obsolete starting controllers such as frequency sensitive rheostat, oil immersing rheostat and cast iron rheostat is strong, and starting process is not desirable. In this case, motor starts under ideal starting current and speed up evenly. The starting controller has significant advantages in protection of motors, electrical devices, power grid and conservation of energy. The controller’s design is elaborate in terms of starting, stopping, protecting against failure, communicating, alarming and displayer. In comparison with obsolete starters, it boast itself of such characteristics, as high level of automation, less starting current (usually being less than 1.3 times of rated current), less electrical and mechanical shock, and it is especially suitable for starting under heavy load. Even in the event that power grid voltage is low, it can start successfully. It reduces capacity of transformer. At present it is a most desirable starting controller for ball mill, hoister, crusher, compressor, fan and water pump under heavy load. II. Performance and features 2.1 It is superior to frequency sensitive rheostat, oil immersing rheostat and cast iron rheostat in terms of performance. 2.2 Its starting current is less, which is less than 1.3 times of rated current of motors. 2.3 It can start for 5-10 times in succession. 2.4 Its starting process is smooth: It has no shock of mechanical stress on devices, thus life of machineries and motors are prolonged. 2.5 It can start under low voltage. It can start successfully in 5.5 KV for motors of 6 KV and in 340 V for motors of 380 V. 2.6 It is simple and reliable in structure. All operations are in automation. It iseasy in installation and maintenance. III.Environment conditions for service 3.1 Ambient temperature: -35°C 50°C 3.2 Height above sea level: No more than 4000 m. 3.3 Relative humidity: No more than 90% 3.4 Installation site: vertical inclination shall be no more than 5º. There is no risk of fire hazard & explosion, no conductive dust, corrosive gas and strong vibration. IV. Plate is introduced into liquid resistance box with special design as electrode, which is connected into motor rotor loop in series. Upon starting of motor, the plate driven by a servomotor of small power moves, as relative position of plate is changing, liquid resistance (connected into rotor loop in series) changes from big to small accordingly, and thus motor is started smoothly under smaller current.
