Balancing capacitors CBB65D are uesd for power factor correction of electromagnetic chokes of gas discharge lamps and transformers in electric mains with frequency of 50-60Hz. Gas-discharge lamp principle of operation is based upon the maintenance by the eletric converter of the arc ,which makes inert gas glow. This load type has a bigger inductance whereby an increased current consumption takes place.In order to decrease current consumption ,as well as toincrease prwer factor of lighting techniques,it'snecessary to introduce a capacitor into the circuit.capacitor ueingallowsto increase power factor up to the value of 0.9.There are several types of gasdischarge lamps compensation.1)Capacitor connection parallelto the prwer systerm.this type of connection is most frequently used by the manufacturers of the lighting equipment .2)Capacitor connection in series withthe power system.Thistype of compensation has its advantages and disadvantages.The mainadwantage is that in this case there is no glimmering effect. And the disadvangtageis that thecapacitor is subject to high load due toresonance arising between choke and capacitor.That's why capacitor of this type are produced for rated voltage 450 V.
