JD 8154 is a delayed-action catalyst for use in polyurethane foams. It was designed for use in formulations requiring a delayed initiation time and in formulations where high amounts of traditional catalysts are required to achieve a complete foam cure. The catalytic sites of JD 8154 catalyst are chemically blocked through the formation of amine acid salts. However, JD 8154 catalyst contains the multiple salt combinations necessary to provide a smooth deblocking profile. Additionally, it is less corrosive than other delayed-action catalysts.
