Ieee 1394b-2002 is the next generation of ieee1394 technology for higher speeds, powered cable and other new applications. Double-layered full shielding isolation in 1394b connector, to minimizing the emi problem. The 1394b system is capable of s1600 (up to s3200) signaling over two differential channels. The interface design incorporates a 3-stage contact mating sequence to enable hot plug capabilities and to protect the signal pairs.This newer version of firewire cable assemblies utilizes a 9 position connector that is compliant with the IEEE-1394b standard. They are ideal for connecting newer equipment with the 9 position connector and can double the transmission rates of the traditional IEEE-1394a cable assemblies.
