Separation carbon char from steel -- Rotary valves will be used to feed char through a series of 2 grate magnets that will magnetically extract 100% of the steel from the char. Metal will be manually collected from the grate magnet which is expected to handle steel fines only and will be placed in the scrap metal compactor. Milling of carbon char -- The char will pass through the piping system to a coarse grinder. The coarse grinder will crush the larger clumps of carbon generating a plain vanilla (PV) carbon that is expected to be 8-mesh. An impact mill will be used to size reduce the carbon from 8 mesh to a specified size (2000 mesh – 8000 mesh). Converting the carbon black power to pellets -- A carbon pelletizing system is utilized to process powder for customers requiring carbon in pellet form. The pelletizer will take the carbon powder and produce either pellets or beads to meet customer specifications.
