It is a special formulated and customized product with high viscosity based on the natural nonmetal mineral the attapulgite clay. The said product integrates such advantages as salt-resistance, adsorption and cohesion, and it can be used as the adhesive agent, binder, thickener, etc. of mineral wool acoustic panel, molecular sieve, thermal insulating material, painting, foundry coating, insulating glass desiccant, etc., as well as the catalyst carrier and the suspending agent of liquid fertilizer. 1 This product is characterized with strong adsorption and cohesion forces, and has good suspending and colloidal properties. It can be made into mineral wool acoustic panel (e.g. ceiling) together with other fibers, which integrates such functions as decoration, sound absorption, thermal insulation, fire prevention, energy conservation, disinfection and air cleaning. 2It will not react with the molecular sieve due to its inertia in the operative media, therefore, it is used as the binding agent of the molecular sieve, and can decrease the abrasion and wearing of the sieve, enhance the sieve strength, improve the appearance and quality. 3The product has such advantages as having high water absorption, good thermal and sound insulation, adhesive value and adsorbability. Therefore, it can be used as the binder and bulking filler of the insulating glass desiccant and other desiccants. 4It can be used as the carrier of catalyst or the suspending agent of liquid fertilizer/pesticide due to its light specific gravity, strong suspending ability and adsorbability. 5It features special physical-chemical properties, and has perfect chemical stability required by printing and dyeing and intertexture applications. It shows no flocculation, dilution, mold generation degradation or fermentation under high temperature. Besides, it has certain viscosity and thixotropy and makes it inactive to electrolytes and easy to be washed. Therefore, it is a perfect material in printing and dyeing and intertexture industries, and it helps to decrease the COD (chemical oxygen demand) drastically in the generated wastewater.
