Aluminum wire and ACSR This product is suitable for overhead power lines. ACSR/AW is used as bare overhead transmission conductor and as primary and secondary distribution conductor. ACSR/AW offers the same strength characteristics as ACSR, along with slightly greater ampacity and resistance to corrosion due to the aluminium cladding of the steel wires. It provides greater protection where corrosive conditions are severe.
