Albendazole Bolus

Albendazole tablet is highly efficient broad-spectrum anthelmintic. 1. Composition Albendazole 300mg Exipient q.s.f 3g 2. Properties Albendazole is one of the broadest spectrum anthelminthic. It is equally effective against Nematodes(both adult and larval forms), Cestodes(both heads and segments) and Trematodes (mature flukes only). It is also ovicidal and reduces environment contamination. 3. Indications Cattle, sheep, goats Inomazole is effective of prevention and treatment against: -Gastro-intestinal worms: Haemonchus,Ostertagia,Trichostrongylus,Strongloides,Bunostomum,Cooperia,Nematodirus,Chabertia,Oesophagostomum,Toxocara. -Lungworms: Dictyocaulus, Muellerius ,Protostrongylus, Neostrongylus, Cystocaulus. -Tapeworms: Moniezia spp. -Mature flukes: Fasciola spp, Dicrocoelium Lanceolatum. 4. Administration and dosage: Oral Route Cattle: - General dosage: 1bolus per 80kg body weight (7.5mg albendazole per kg body weight)) - For the treatment of mature fluke infection and Ostertagiasis type: the dose must be one bolus per 60kg body weight (10mg albendazole per kg body weight). - Sheep and goats: - General dosage is a quarter of tablet for 30kg body weight (5mg albendazole per kg body weight) - For the treatment of mature fluke infection and protostrongylosis, the dose must be increased up to one half bolus per 40kg body weight (7.5mg albendazole per kg body weight). 5. Precaution: -Albendazole is generally not recommended during the first third of pregnancy. -Keep out of reach of children and uninformed persons. -Pregnant women should not come in contact with the drug. 6. Storage: Keep in a dry place protected form light. 7. Withdrawal period: Meat: 7days Milk: 2days (4 milkings) 8. Validity: 3 years
