The founding fathers of Weilisheng Wine handed down to their successors a unique and almost romantic talent for blending wines. Their gentle patient innovative wine making ways are as important today as they were in 1738 when the first glass of Weilisheng was sipped by master wine maker William Weilisheng. He had blended his smooth velvet wine with age old Chinese medicines, medicines that even in this modern age still holds powerful cures and enhancements. Chinese medicine has a five thousand year history and its healing powers hold true today for liver, spleen, stomach, heart and is known to enhance physical strength. Chinese Alchemy is both a and a practice with an aim of achieving ultimate as well as the making of several substances thought to produce wisdom. A hint of some of these substances can be found in Weilisheng wine. Mr. Weilisheng chose Longtou a village near to Zhanjiang with its deep sea port and teeming aquatic life to build his winery. The waters of Longtou run into the sea and are pure and sparkling fresh, ideal for wine. The winery at Longtou is in production to this day. In 2006 Weilisheng began to blend their traditional wine using a fine French cognac as the base wine in the hope of producing a wine with an appeal to wine drinker’s palates throughout the world. It took two years and a lot of patient research and intuitive experimentation to blend the perfect wine. In 2008 Weilisheng XO wine was finally ready to cross the divide between East and West wines. With its smooth strong taste, aroma and beautiful glistening color of French Cognac blended with the wine created by William Weilisheng it was launched on an unsuspecting world. A truly international wine was born. A master wine as smooth as a feminine velvet, but strong and bold with a masculine, enchanting, flavor and delightful after taste. Weilisheng wine combines a wise ancient wine making talent with modern wine making expertise and technical skills. XO is a wine that was nearly three hundred years in the making, setting the standard for years to come.
