In 1941, the Dow Chemical Company developed a light weight PS foam which was highly pressure resistant and highly resistant to moisture. In the early 1950’s it was increasingly used as thermal insulation material due to its excellent thermal performance. The commercialisation of blue Dow STYROFOAM® in Europe started in 1963 and was quickly complemented by a further extruded polystyrene foam: the green BASF STYRODUR®. Today there are many XPS producers in China and other countries. CHS provides the low cost XPS products made in China with good quality. Features Extruded polystyrene has a well established reputation for long-term reliability and superior resistance to the elemental forces of nature: time, water, cold, heat, and pressure. XPS properties include: l Thermal conductivity and transfer resistance l Water Absorption l Compressive strength and compressive creep l Dimension stability l Behavior at low temperature l Behavior under radiation l Natural weathering behavior l Durability against chemicals and solvents l Durability against micro organisms l Vermin and rodent resistance l Fire protection performance l Perimeter insulation Applications l Thermal insulation of flat roofs l Floor insulation l Exterior wall insulation l Ceiling heat insulation l Steep roof insulation l Interior fitting l Sandwich boards l Frost protection layers for buildings and transportation routes Physical Performance Table FeaturesUnitPerformance by modelStandardX150X200X250X350X400X450X500Compression (45 days)Kpa≥150≥200≥250≥350≥400≥450≥500GB/T8813Water absorption (96h)%(v/v)≤1.5≤1.0GB/T8810Vapor Performance (RH50±5%, 23±1°C)ng/(m·spa)≥3.5≥3.0≥2.0QB/T2411Thermal conductivity (90d, 10°C)w/m·K≥0.028≥0.027GB/T10294Diamentional stabiity (70±2°C, 48h)%≤2.0≤1.5≤1.0QB/T8811Combustion performanceB2QB/8826 Product Specification DimensionUnitSizeLengthmm1800, 1200Widthmm600, 900, 1200Thicknessmm20, 25, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100 For more information, contact your CHS representative.
