Rechargeable LED flashlight 1, Installing the Batteries Hold the aluminium casing firmly in one hand and turn the end cap in a counter-clockwise direction until fully unscrewed. Pull the headaway from the casing and this will reveal the battery cartridge. Place battery into the compartment ensuring that the plus(+) pole end points toward the end cap witch and not towards the head of the flashlight. With battery installed replace the cartridge into the casing and turn the end cap in a clockwise direction until fully tightened. The flashlight is now ready to beused. Charging the Flashlight Put the battery into the supplied adaptor that can be used in a standard 110V-240V AC wall socket power outlet. While thebattery is charging an indicator on the charger end cap will glow red. When this turns green it shows that the battery is now ready for use and so can be removed from charge. Please note that in order to maximise battery life the flashlight should be charged for 8 hours on the first three occasions, regardless of what the charging indicator shows. However after the third 8 hour charge the charging indicator should be referred to once again. IMPORTANT: Please read the following points regarding the performance/maintenance of your flashlight (1), Please ensure that the batteries are inserted correctly otherwise battery damage may occur, possibly resulting in an explosion. (2),Be careful not to touch the gold contacts on the end of the battery cartridge or rest them against anything conductive as this could cause a short circuit. (3),If you do not intend to use the flashlight for a long period of time, remove the batteries to prevent them leaking and damaging the flashlight. (4), Be aware that the charge will drain from rechargeable batteries over time and that this is a natural property of them, not a fault. (5),This flashlight may also be powered by three standard AAA alkaline batteries but you must never try to recharge these or mix them with rechargeable ones as they could explode. (6),Rechargeable batteries have a limited lifespan so when the batteries can no longer be charged or the discharge time is too short then you will need to replace them. When replacing either rechargeable or normal batteries you should always change them all at the same time, never using new and used batteries together and only using high quality ones of the same type and brand. (7),Be aware that using the flashlight in high or low temperatures will quicken the battery discharge and so reduce the burn time. (8),Please recharge the flashlight as soon as the light begins to dim as excessive discharge can shorten rechargeable battery life. (9),Only use the supplied power adaptor otherwise you risk damaging your torch or batteries. 2, Multi-Mode Switch Operation This flashlight is equipped with four different modes of operation: High Beam (100%): For indoor, outdoor or long distance illumination. Low Beam (10%): For close illumination, such as reading, repairing or identification. Strobe Light (12Hz): For signalling in a rescue situation, self-defence from attack or fun party lighting. SOS Signal: For use in rescue situations, this mode will continually flash the international Morse code signal for SOS. 3, You can access the different modes in one of two ways: Touch: Lightly touch the end cap switch with your thumb to see the first mode. Releasing the switch and then touching it again within 1 second will show the next mode. Keep repeating this to cycle though all of the flashlight modes and when all have been shown, it will loop back to the beginning. Leaving the switch for more than 1 second after releasing your thumb will result in the cycle being reset to the beginning. If you apply more pressure and complete the press to engage the button then the current mode will remain selected. Press: Exactly the same procedure as above but instead of performing a light touch on the end cap switch to cycle through the different modes you apply more pressure and engage the button each time. This will keep each mode selected unless the procedure is repeated within 1 second in which case the next mode is selected. 4, Lantern / Candle Function The flashlight can be used as a candle to illuminate a room during a power failure. Select the high beam and then carefully balance the flashlight on its end on a flat secure surface .Pointing the flashlight at the ceiling the light will be reflected around the room. It can also be used as a lantern when camping or outdoors by hanging it in your tent or from a tree. 5, Warning --The light from this flashlight is very powerful and should not be shone directly into anyone's eyes, as this may cause short term blindness. If the beam does shine in your eyes, close them and look away immediately. --In the case of commercial use, the user of the flashlight should only use this product in accordance with any local laws and regulations.
