This equipment is used to monitor variations of temperature and contact resistance at connections of main power cable joints. They also send out alert due to over heating.Contact resistance, at high voltage power cable joints and high voltage switches, increases due to certain factors. As a result, temperature at these joints or switches will increase and cause oxidation. These will further increase contact resistance, and eventually, damages the joints or switches due to over heating. Therefore, temperature monitoring is crucial. The principles of the equipments are as follows: By measuring both temperature (T) and current (A) of each test/monitoring point, and then analyzing the T/A relationship can accurately work out the contact resistances. The equipments digitalize sample values of temperature and current, and then transmit measurement data, as 2.4GHZ RF signal, to digital processor and display to users. Temperature and current sensors should be fixed at cable connections as test points. Data transceiver should be fixed inside the cabins, and display units should be fixed on top lf the cabin. RS-485 connector connects data transceiver and display unit, 6V DC power should be supplied to the transceiver. Metal shielding must be avoided between sensors and data transceiver.
