Detailed Product Description, INTRODUCTION Coconut shell mosaic tile is a new type of environmental building materials with high-quality coconut shell as the base material. Absolutely hand-made with natural, beautiful curvature of bending, its hardness can even compete top-grade mahogany. After fine grinding and polishing, BAIYE's coconut shell mosaic tile can not only be very smooth and shinning, but also very wearable and water-repellent. You don't need to paint on the coconut shell mosaic tile, but you can enjoy a strong, modern, simple, elegant decoration material. Special Notes As with any natural product, it presents shade variations. The variations in color must be seen as normal and actually they are the "real beauty" of the product. The tiles appeal to customers who want to create a different, exotic look in their rooms. Installation 1) Preparation of the surface. Clean the surface prior to installation. If desired the surface can be re-sealed prior to laying down the tiles. 2.) Preparation of the Tiles. Tiles should be unpack and left opened for a least 48 hours on the environment before installation, and on the last two hours the environment temperature should be higher than 15ºC / 65F. Tiles should be perfectly clean and dry. If needed, to rectify the size of a tile use a wood rotating soar. 4.) Gluing the Tiles. HaiNan Coco Tiles can be applied using Mastic or construction adhesive. Apply mastic/adhesive as directed. If using mastic apply with notched trowel. Lay tiles on mastic/adhesive-coated wall as arranged during site prep. Pin nails nailed diagonally through tile backer edges avoiding the coconut tile chips can be used to set tiles along with mastic/adhesive. Brace tiles to the wall while the adhesive sets using soft- faced bracing to avoid damage to the coconut chips. Allow mastic/adhesive to dry thoroughly. Apply spray-on polyurethane-type finish if desired. NOTE: Test finish first on tile to be sure that finished look matches desired finish look) The coconut tile is not recommended for wet areas or areas in direct contact with water. Maintenance: 1 Clean the coconut tile with soap and water. 2 Do not use acid or abrasive substances. 3 Clean with a soft sponge and dry after cleaning. 4 Apply a sealant after installation and every three months afterwards.
