Prior to solid state polycondensation (SSP), crystallization is plays an important part in the whole process. The PET flakes are heated evenly in the crystallizer in order to reduce their moisture content and increase their crystallinity, ensuring the quality of product. The PET chips or flakesare transferred to a polycondensation (SSP) reactor and kept in the reactor for a period of time, through which the molecular weight of PET rises. So the intrinsic viscosity of chips or flakesincreases to the required level and the mechanical properties are also improved. At the same time, the PET flakes are decontaminated.
