Crystallized ginger is prepared from fresh young ginger, dusted with caster sugar(icing sugar and raw cane sugar are available), giving it a golden yellow colour. It is tender, sweet, with fresh and pleasant ginger flavour. It can be eaten as a snack, or used in bakery and in desserts, for chocolate enrobing and inclusion into chocolate bars, fruit bars, health food, cookie, cake, muffin, bread, or pie recipe. Top your favorite cereal, or put a handful into waffle or pancake batter. Add its sweet heat to salads, sauces, cereal, ice cream, yogurt and almost any dessert.
