Appearance: white to light yellow crystalline powder, translucent crystals like plum petals. Odor: clean odor, spicy, bitter, cool. Melting point: 204 209°C Specific rotation: +34 +38 ° D-borneol content (by gas chromatography): 95%, 96%, 97%, 98%, 99% ; the natural camphor is major impurity.
