Preparation The fruit is collected in summer and the seed is removed from the pulp and the shell, and dried in the sun. Can be used either raw, in powder form, or processed. Description Ku Xing Ren(bitter Xing Ren), is the most frequently prescribed clinically. Its taste is bitter, its nature is warm, and it is downbearing and draining. It is slightly toxic. It is advantageously used for asthma or cough of the replete type, whether intemal or extemal, and influenza or colds accompanied by cough with abundant phlegm.
