Hotel Control System Keycard Switch 1. Description: 1) The guestroom keycard switch is a member of JOBO's Integrated Room Automation System. It is designed to sent an input signal to a member of control device throughout the guestroom when a keycard is inserted or removed from the card receiver slot. It is equipped with an LED array that acts as an indicator or pilot light depending on whether a keycard has been inserted or removed. 2) The guestroom keycard switch can also be used instead of a door switch to signal other device that the guest is in or out of the room. 2. Application: 1) The guestroom keycard switch can be used in a standalone Energy-saving Management System application or as part of a centrally controlled and networked system using the JOBO's server software. 2) The guestroom keycard switch is ideally installed at the entry of the guestroom where the guest can conveniently insert the keycard when entering and retrieve it when leaving the guestroom. 3) It is used to send a signal to device used to control HAVC units, Lighting circuits or other electrically powered equipment when the built-in optical sensor detects the insertion or removal of the keycard. 3. Operation: 1) The guestroom keycard switch is activated by inserting or removing the guest keycard upon entry or exit from guestroom. 2) Once activated, the guestroom keycard switch sends its input signal (pulse) to a control device which they can allow electrical power to flow to HAVC units, lighting circuits or other equipment. When the keycard is removed from guestroom keycard switch upon leaving the guestroom, It sends a signal to the connected control devices to de-activate the previously powered equipment or circuits. This can take place after a defined period of time to minimize guest inconvenience. 3) The guestroom keycard switch requires a low-voltage wired interface for integration in the JOBO's server software. 4.
