LIBSTATION |
Workstation is designed for improving the service efficiency of librarians in the front desk for the circulation of minority of books and DVDs, etc. which are not workable or not safe to work on ABC-2010. It works exactly the same as the ABC-2010 system except that the LIBSTATION has no Multi-Book Detection (MBD) function (which means the unit has to be used by librarians instead of patrons themselves). ADV series of products are designed for activating and deactivating EM labels and verifying labels’ status (active or inactive). There are three models of ADV series products. ADV-8000S ADV-8000B and ADV-8000C ADV-8000S is for use independently without being connected with any other equipment. ADV-8000S is triggered by a signal from the IR sensor on the Antenna Pad, not by any other way. ADV-8000B is for use with barcode scanner to organize a simple workstation. The character of this model is as below. 1 – The unit can be working independently as ADV-8000S or can be connected with barcode scanner and triggered by signal from the barcode scanner generated after successfully reading the information of a barcode on books. 2 – When the unit is connected with a barcode scanner, it will work as below. (1) When you just power on the unit but have not scanned any barocde successfully, it will work just as an ADV-8000S which will be triggered only by a signal from the IR sensors on the Antenna Pad. (2) When you have scanned any barcode successfully, the unit will change into another mode of operation at once, which means that the unit will be triggered only by a signal from the barcode scanner after reading a barcode successfully. Please note that for this model, the unit will be triggered by any successful reading of barcode information without confirming if the information of a patron card and a book is valid or not. (3) When you power off the unit and power it on again, it will work again as the modes described as above. (4) Auto & Manual modes work as usual. 3 – On the Antenna Pad, there is a RS232 port. The barcode scanner is connected to the unit via RS232 port on the Antenna Pad. 4 – The function of Check (for checking active label inside a book) always working independently. When you set the button to Check position, the unit will only detect active label and will not be triggered by signal from IR sensors or barocde scaaner. When you set the button to the Normal position, the unit will work as described above in 1 and 2. ADV-8000C is for use with a PC server to organize a workstation. The character of this model is as below. 1 – The unit can be working independently as ADV-8000S or can be connected with a PC server and triggered by signal from the PC generated after successfully reading of the information of a barcode on book and the information is confirmed by ACS/MIS databse of a library (for preventing any possible mistake of wrong patron card or wrong barcode). 2 – When the unit is connected with a PC server, it will work as below. (1) When you just power on the unit but have not scanned any barocde which is confirmed by ACS/MIS database successfully, it will work just as an ADV-8000S which will be triggered only by a signal from the IR sensors on the Antenna Pad. (2) When you have scanned any barcode which is confirmed by ACS/MIS database successfully, the unit will change into another mode of operation at once, which means that the unit will be triggered only by a signal from the PC after reading a barcode successfully. Please note that the main difference of this model with ADV-8000B is that the information of a patron card and a book have to be verified to be valid before ACS/MIS system sending a signal to the unit via PC and triggering the unit. (3) When you power off the unit and power it on again, it will work again as the modes described as above. (4) Auto & Manual modes work as usual. 3 – On the Controller Box, there is a RS232 port. The unit is connected to PC via RS232 port on the Controller Box. 4 – The function of Check (for checking active label inside a book) always working independently. When you set the button to Check position, the unit will only detect active label and will not be triggered by signal from IR sensors or PC. When you set the button to the Normal position, the unit will work as described above in 1 and 2.
