CompositionPer ml. solution:Oxytetracycline 100 mg.AppearanceYellow to light brown yellow clear solution IndicationsOXYTET-100 is intended for use in the treatment of the following diseases in sheep, cattle, nonlactating dairy cattle,sheep and swine when due to oxytetacycline-susceptible organisms:Sheep,cattle: OXYTET-100 is indicated in the treatment of pneumonia and shipping fever complex associated with pasteureela spp. And Hemophilus spp; infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis(pinkeye) caused by Moraxella bovis;foot-rot and diphtheria caused by Fusobacterium necrophourm;bacterial(scours) caused by Escherichia coli;wooden tongue caused by Actinobbacillus ligniersii;leptospirosis caused by Leptospira pomona;and wound infections and acute metritis caused by strain of staphylococci and streptococci organisms sensitive to oxytetracycline.Swine: OXYTET-100 is indicated in the treatment of bacterial enteritis(scours,colibacillosis) caused by Escherichia coli;pneunonia caused by pasteurella multocida;and leptospirosis caused by Leptospira pomona.Dosage and administrationSwine:In swine a single dosage of 20 milligrams of OXYTET-100 per kg of body wight administered intramuscularly is recommended in the treatment of bacterial pneumonia caused by Pasteurella multocida in swine,where re-treatment is impractical due to husbandry conditions or where repeated restraint is inadvisable.OXYTET-100 can also be administered by intramuscular injection at a level of 7 to 11 milligrams of oxytetracycline per kg of body weight per day.Treatment should be continued 24-48hours following remission of disease sighs; howerer,not to exceed a total of four consecutive days.consult your veterinarian if improvement is not noted within 24-48 hours of the beginning of treatment.For sows ,administer once intramuscularly 7 milligrams of oxytetracycline per kg of body weight approximately 8 hours before farrowing or immediately after completion of farrowing.For swine weighing 12kg of body weight and under,OXYTET-100 should be administered undiluted for treatment at 20mg/kg but should be administered diluted for treatment at 7-11mg/kg body weight. 20mg/kg Dosage Volume of Undiluted OXYTET-100 7 or 11 mg/kg Dosage Volume of Diluted OXYTET-100Body weight20mg/kg7mg/kgDilution*11mg/kg2.5kg0.4ml0.6ml1:71.0ml4.5kg1ml0.9ml1:51.5ml11.5kg2.2ml1.5ml1:32.5ml* To prepare dilutions,add one part OXYTET-100 to three,five or seven parts of sterile water,or 5 percent dextrose solution as indicated; the diluted product should be used immdiately.Contra-indicationsSince bacteriostatic drugs may interfere with the bactericidal action of penicillin,it is advisable to avoid giving OXYTET-100 in conjunction with penicillin.Side-effectsHypersensitivity reactions, irritation at injection site.Withdrawal periodCattle,sheep,goats,pigs:28days;Milk:7daysPacking100ml/bottleStorageStore in a closed,dark place.Period of validity2years
