Panel mounted Indicator with optical fiber Type CSM-SL0CSM-SL0 is especially designed for the Rain Main Unit system, it consists of:·1 display unit accommodating the evaluation and indication electronics ·3 current transformers for the monitoring and detection of potential phase short-circuits 1 current transformer for the monitoring and detection of the unbalance current of a 3-phase system · 4 optical fibers Earth faults are indicated with a blinking LED. Short circuits are indicated with one blinking LED per cable. Each CT consists of a plastic housing, which is fully sealed and contains a coil to detect impulses caused by a short circuit or earth fault. The optical fibers are applied for a potential-free data transmission between the short circuit sensor and the displaying unit through a high voltage area. Main Function: The CTs detect earth faults and short circuits inductively. The operating points for earth fault and short circuit are adjusted with a threshold level electronic. When the current exceeds the preadjusted threshold level, light signals are emitted via optical fibers towards the evaluation unit incorporated in the housing where they are indicated as short circuits or earth fault by means of red blinking LEDs. This equipment allows the filtering of peak currents caused by switch currents or similar circumstances. Wrong indications are thus avoided. With the instrument 4 values for minimum impulse duration can be adjusted (times follow request of customer). Assembling: - Please refer to assembling instructions delivered with each instrument -The displaying unit has to be installed outside the high voltage area. It is possible to install the short circuit sensors on screened and unscreened cables. The earth fault sensor must be installed around all three cores to assure that the sum current of all the three cables is picked up. The frames of the sensors can be opened for installation. The short circuit and earth fault CTs are connected to the displaying unit via optical fiber.
