“Point to Point GPRS” Remote-reading Water Meter SolutionAccording to client’s requests, we combined with existing international technical standards, designed the solution of “point to point GPRS” Remote-reading. A. Technical specificationsa. System ComponentsSome power-free direct-read water meter, GPRS transceiver control circuit, SIM card, antenna, GPRS transceiver in water supply department and Computer Software.b. The Standard of the Water MeterThe water meter requires DN15 Rotary-vane wet-dial, non-toxic metal mechanical water meter. The permanent flow rate Q3 is 2500L/h; R(Q3/Q1)=100, adaptive temp: 0.1--30°C, applied no-working pressure of the pipeline is over 1.0MPa, the pressure loss is less than 0.063MPa. The standard counter registration is Liters. The printing and instruction are both in English.c. Appearance D. The Description of The Working Process Before the installation, the water supply department needs to plug a SIM card into each water meter’s GPRS transceiver. Before confirm this solution, the GPRS charge needs to consult with location network provider, such as open account, monthly plan, service packages and so on. The best option is charge as the usage of the GPRS. After the installation, each water meter can upload the data by GPRS, the water supply department’s GPRS transceiver initiatively call the water meter. Therefore, in theory, there is no limited on each GPRS transceiver can call how many water meters. The water supply department’s GPRS transceiver communication with the Computer by through the serial port 232, and the Company Application system and data base has all the information about the end-user. This software can manually or automatically complete remote-reading water meter. E. System Operation Instruction The software includes: user profile, remote control, payment collect, data analyze, report print, system parameter setting. Administrative center computer, GPRS facilitiesFirewall: the purpose is to setup a security spot which inspect both internal and external network safety. The data switch between server and water meter will be verifying before transfer. It also can block most internet attack in order to protect the whole network. UPS power: when the electric supply stops, it ensures database server, computer, print and other facilities keep working. b. Network between each water supply department Install the software on each department’s computer, and connect internet; run the software, and then the data is exchanging between each department in order to achieve real time. c. Remote-reading and real time controlThe GPRS transceiver can be setter up by time, flow, randomly or manually to remote-reading one or more water meter on selected area. It also can cut down unusual user’s water by controlling valve (option: for water meter has valve control function)d. BlacklistThe system will automatically analyze data, and report unusual user to operator. Operator can make action. For the unusual user, system will send a warning massage or supervisor. e.
