How does the UltraShape™ technology work? The UltraShape CONTOUR I uses a patented ultrasonic transducer to deliver controlled focused ultrasound at a precise depth within the subcutaneous tissue and is designed to target and disrupt only adipose tissue, leaving surrounding structures such as skin, blood vessels, nerves and connective tissue intact. During the UltraShape™ treatment, the membranes of the fat cells are disrupted. The fat cell content, primarily comprised of triglycerides, is dispersed into the fluid between the cells and then transported through the vascular and lymphatic systems to the liver. The liver makes no distinction between fat coming from the UltraShape treatment and fat originating from consumed food. Both are processed by the body’s natural mechanisms.
