Jingwei Fu tea The manufacture technology of Fu brick tea is invented by Shaanxi Xianyang people. It firstly emerged around 1368 AD (Ming dynasty Emperor Hongwu). Fu brick tea has been produced in Jingyang county Shaanxi province, so called "Jingyang brick"; because of the processing during dog days, it’s also called the "Fu tea (hot summer days tea)". The utility of Fu tea is similar to China root- Smilax glabra (tufuling), so it was received a good name as “Smilax glabra tea” and its Chinese pronunciation sounds like “good fortune tea”. As the officials monitored and leaded manufacture of Fu tea as well as government was responsible for sales, the tea was also called as “Guan tea (official tea)” or “Fu tea (government tea)”.
