Outline: Wet permanent-magnet cylindrical magnetic separator is commonly used by iron ore factory. It is suitable to separate strong magnetic minerals. The separator is divided into three types: down flow, counter-flow and half counter-flow according to the structure of the trough. The particle size is: less than 6mm in the down flow trough, less than 1.5mm in the counter-flow trough and less than 0.5mm in the half counter-flow trough. Down flow magnetic separator has strong processing ability. It is suitable to separate crudely and finely strong magnetic materials with bigger particle size. Many separators can be connected in series to work. When conveying materials in large quantities, the magnetic particle is easy to lose in the tailings ore, so the user should strengthen the operational management to control the ore pulp in a low level. Counter-flow magnetic separator is suitable to separate crudely and scavenging strong magnetic fine minerals. It has high recycling rate but the grade of the mineral concentrate is low. This type separator is not suitable to process crude materials because the crude materials are easy to deposit and block up the separating space. Half counter-flow magnetic separator can get high-quality iron ore concentrate and at the same time also can get better recycling rate. So the half counter-flow magnetic separator is extensively used in the production. It is suitable to separate crudely and finely the mineral particle with the size below 0.5mm. Many separators can be connected in series or in parallel to achieve scavenging and separating finely repeatedly.
