Description ZJ-8000 Silicone Structural Sealant is a two-part, neutral curing silicone formulation specifically developed for the structural bonding of glass, metal and other building components with good features as follows: a. Approved by silicone SSG leading group of national committee of economic and trade b. Meets National standards of GB-16776-2005 c. Excellent adhesion to a wide range of curtain-wall materials such as coated, enameled and reflective glass, anodized oxidation or coated aluminum and stainless steel. d. High level of mechanical properties with joint movement capability of ±12.5%. e. Neutral cured, no corrosion, non poisonous f.Excelent stability in a wide range temperature at -50 +150 g. Excellent weatherproof feature and a high resistance to UV radiation, high temperature and humidity. h. Lot matching of base and curing agent not necessary. Where to use It is designed for use in structural glazing applications such as: use for structural adhesion and seal the joints of the structural glass and metal in the factory or building site. GB/T1___Chinese national standard Application ZJ-8000 structural sealant has excellent unprimed adhesion to most coated or not coated glass and metal spacers. It's compatible to neutral serial zhijiang products like ZJ-2000, ZJ-888, ZJ-222, ZJ-225 or ZJ-997 or most building materials. The thing should be careful is to prepare samples to do adhesion and compatibility tests before application. Application method The base and curing agents should be mixed by airless mixing system for better physical performance. ZJ-8000 is fit for general two-part silicone sealant dispenser. It will have no good effects if using manual mixing or using hand for air entering into sealant and later changing the performance of sealant. Lot matching of base and curing agent is not required for ZJ-8000. ZJ-8000 should be stirred before use to prevent possible settling in shipment. Because of its reactivity with atmospheric moisture, curing agent should not be exposed to air for prolonged period. The 12:1 base to curing agent mixing ratio by weight could be adjusted by user from 10:1 14:1 for suitable curing time. No any significant changes will occur over this range. The increase or decrease of air moisture will affect the snap time. Please contact zhijiang or dispenser manufacturer for best mixing ratio. To obtain optimum adhesion, joints should be tooled immediately after sealant application to ensure complete substrate contact. During shutdown, it's recommended that the dispensing and mixing lines be purged with un-catalyzed base. This minimizes sealant buildup. The uncured sealant is not permitted to contact with polished granite, metal or glass to preventing a thin film formed on the substrate surface to affect the esthetic things. Use masking tape. If sealant contact with non-porous material, clean out with methyl ethyl ketone, tolune or xylene. Surface clean Cleaning all grease, dirty, water, klunky sealant from surface, accessories and protective coatings and any pollutant left inside joints and sunken parts. Metal and glass should be cleaned by two-cloth. The solvent used will be methyl ethyl ketone, tolune or xylene and observe the using rule. If for plastic, use the guided solvent from suppliers. Priming It's commonly not necessary for priming on using zhijiang Silicone sealant if recommending primer after adhesion tests, pour zhijiang primer to a clean, dry, lint-free cloth and gently wipe surface till a thin film formed. Later application. Masking Masking tape should be used to keep excess sealant from contacting adjacent areas where it is not intended, to ensure an aesthetically pleasing job. Tool the sealant with light pressure before a skin begins to form (typically 10 to 20 minutes). Remove the masking tape before the sealant skins over. Clean dispensing equipment During shutdown, it's recommended that the dispensing and mixing lines be purged with un-catalyzed base or solvent. The cured sealant inside the dispenser should be cleaned with solvent. Maintenance No need to maintenance. Please change broken part or ZJ-8000 if sealant failed. ZJ-8000 could be adhered to the cured ZJ-8000 after suitable surface clean. Storage and Shelf Life It is stored on airtight container under 30 and 12 months of shelf life from the date of production. Packing ZJ-8000 base and curing agents are available in separate packaging or match packaging (12:1 by weight). The base will be used for purge in dispenser shutdown. So base is available in 245 Kg ferrous drum. Curing agent is available in 19 Kg plastic pail.
