The annual consumption of coal now in China is 2.6 billion ton, among which 1 billion is used in medium or small boilers that are major sources of greenhouse gases emission. If they take straw particles alternatively, the emission reduction benefit should not be underestimated. Jilin Hongri Biomass Fuel Company takes forestry debris as materials to produce particle fuel to substitute for petrol and supplies heat for Changchun four-star Jilongpo Plaza that covers an area of 45 thousand m2. Its thermal efficiency is 83% saving half of the cost with a distinct environment protection effect.
