The First 30-tonAC Converter Adjusting Speed Overhead Locomotive in China. AC frequency mode is transforming unsteady DC in trolley wire into frequency adjustable three-phase AC via high-power IGBT element to drive the AC frequency motor to pull and adjust speed. Due to the advanced vector control technique, AC frequency motor may realize a pull-in torque and pulling force the same as DC motor's which makes the vehicle start strongly with heavy load.
